2. Candidates are required to report at Parking Area outside Platform No 6, Bhopal Railway Jn at
1400 hrs, ONLY ON THE SELECTED/ ALLOTTED REPORTING DATE as communicated to their
registered email Id/ via SMS. CANDIDATES REPORTING ON ANY OTHER DATE WILL NOT BE
ACCEPTED. Our representative will receive and arrange your conveyance to the Selection Centre. Schedule

3. No changes will be made to the SSB dates, once selected/ allotted. No absentee batches have
been scheduled.
Note 1:- Local Candidates. Withhold your move and contact us by at the earliest in case you or your parents
or close relatives are serving in this Selection Centre Central, Bhopal. Further instructions regarding
change of Centre will be intimated to you on receipt of such confirmation from you. Withholding
information or giving false information in this regard will render you liable for cancellation of
your candidature and disqualification of commission in case detected subsequently.

Note 2:- The reporting date may be changed only under extremely exceptional circumstances, based on the
merits of the case and availability of batches/ vacancies for which you will be required to submit a
request alongwith supporting documentary proof to this Centre, only through ‘Feedback/ Query’ option
available on logging-in to your registered account on www.joinindianarmy.nic.in . The date will be
considered changed only if you receive a confirmation from us.
Eligibility

4. Please ensure that you fulfill all eligibility criteria strictly as per the Notification published vide
UPSC EXAMINATION NOTICE NO 03/2018-NDA-I dated 15 Jan 2018. In case of shortcomings if any,
candidates will be returned on reporting for the SSB.

5. Permanent Body Tattoo(s).

(a) Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearm i.e from inside of elbow to
the wrist and on the reverse side of palm/ back (dorsal) side of hand. Permanent body tattoos on any
other part of the body are not acceptable and candidates will be barred from further selection.
(b) Tribes with tattoo marks on the face or body as per their existing custom and traditions will be
permitted on a case to case basis, in such cases a self certified certificate of undertaking declaring
details of permanent body tattoo(s), is required to be submitted at the time of reporting. Format of these
certificates are attached as per Appendices ‘A’, ‘B’ & ‘C’.
(c) Policy on permanent body tattoo has been uploaded on the Indian Army web site and same can
be viewed at http://www.joinindianarmy.nic.in/writereaddata/Portal/Images/pdf/tattopolicy2015.pdf

Documentation

6. Please bring following documents in ORIGINAL along with two photocopies each duly self attested when
reporting at this centre. Original documents will be returned after verification at the SSB. Original documents

(a) Matriculation or Equivalent Certificate for verification of your date of birth. [Certificates issued
by the board concerned (CBSE/State Boards/ICSE)/ admit Card/ Marksheet/ transfer/ Leaving Cetificate
etc in which date of birth is reflected are not acceptable proof of date of birth.]
(b) Intermediate/ 10+2 pass certificate.
(c) Marks Sheet of Matriculation or equivalent.
(d) Marks Sheet of Intermediate/10+2 examinations.
(e) In case your original documents have been submitted for pursuing higher studies, you are
required to bring a Bonafide cum Custodian Certificate as per Appendix ’D’ on original letter head
duly signed by the Principal/ Head of institution where the documents have been submitted. All
photocopies of such documents to be attested by the authority issuing the Bonafide cum Custodian
Certificate.

(f) The candidates appearing in Class 12 should be able to furnish the proof of passing to the
Directorate General of Recruiting by 24 Dec 2018. Such candidates are required to bring following
documents:-
(i) Certificate on original letter head duly signed by the Principal/ Head of institution
clearly stating the dates of exam and results. Format is attached as Appendix ‘E’.
(ii) Self Declaration Certificate (Proof of Passing) regarding submission of Proof of Passing
by the Candidate as per Appendix ‘F’.
(g) No Claim Certificate. Format is attached as Appendix ‘G’.
(h) UPSC Admit Card. (Not mandatory to carry).
(j) Valid Proof of Identity with photograph - Aadhaar Card/ PAN Card/ Voter ID Card/ Passport.
(k) Certificate for Not Having Duplicate Profiles/Registration IDs. A declaration to this effect as
per format attached at Appendix ‘H’.
7. Special Instructions. Candidates MUST thoroughly scrutinise all requisite Certificates and
documents, including the UPSC Admit Card to check if there is any variation in the personal particulars-
Candidate’s Name & Parents Name from document to document. In case of minor variations also, the
candidates are required to submit an Affidavit stating the variations in the personal particulars in specific
documents and corrective actions taken thereto (to be elaborated in details). Following aspects be kept
in mind while preparing the Affidavit:-

(a) The personal particulars- Candidate’s Name & Parents Name as contained in Matriculation or
Equivalent Certificate only will be acceptable.
(b) Due care be taken to address all the variations without leaving any scope for interpretations
whatsoever of such variations from document to document. In absence of correct affidavit, the
candidate will be returned back without entertaining any representations.
(c) In case of instance such as changes in the personal particulars undertaken legally, it should be
supported with the original and two attested copies of the Gazette Notification published by the
concerned State Government to this effect.

Procedure at SSB
8. Testing. This will be conducted over five days excluding the day of arrival, in two stages:-

(a) Stage I. The Stage I testing shall commence at 06:30AM on the first day and will comprise of
an Intelligence Test and a Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PPDT).
(b) In case of your rejection in Stage I, you shall be returned from the Centre in the afternoon
of the same day.
(c) Stage II. The Stage II tests comprises of Psychological Tests, Group Test I & II and Interview for
the next four days.

9. Medical Examination. You should be physically fit and free from ailment or any health problem which
may hamper your performance in the physical tests/interview. Refer Notification for details.

(a) In case, you qualify in the Stage-II testing, you shall be required to undergo a Special Medical
Board (SMB) over the next four to six days. In exceptional and unavoidable circumstances, it may take
upto eight days.
(b) In your own interest you are advised to undergo a preliminary medical check-up for wax in ears,
refractory error of eyes, fungal infections of skin, eosinophilia, knock knee and flat foot or any other
disease before reporting for SSB interview.

10. Physical Standards. Refer Notification for details.

11. Compensation. Government is not responsible for any compensation to the candidates or to their
guardians/ heirs for injuries sustained by them during the period of testing or while using military transport.

12. Travelling Allowance (TA).

(a) TA is admissible for the shortest route only.
(b) You are authorized to travel by AC III Tier/ Chair Car. TA will be paid as per defence travel rule.
(c) Reimbursement of TA will not be admissible in absence of original travel documents.
(d) You are entitled to TA when you attend the interview for a permanent commission /short service
commission for the first time in defence services. TA is not admissible for second or subsequent
attempts for the same type of commission.
(e) Re-imbursement of TA will be made to Beneficiary Bank Account through NEFT. Candidates are
required to furnish the details such as – Name of Account Holder, Type of Account, Account No, Bank
Name, IFSC Code, Branch & Address of Bank.
(f) To claim TA if applicable, candidates must submit TA Form (Format attached as Appendix ‘J’)
and a hard copy of the tickets. You are liable to forfeit the TA if you:-
(i) Are withdrawn from any stage of Testing due to ineligibility/ cancellation of candidature.
(ii) Make use of any travel concession forms from Defence or any other Govt Department.

13. Change of Address. Change of address, if any, after submission of application will be intimated to
the addresses mentioned below (Format Attached as Appendix ‘K’) :-

14. Candidates declared successful in the SSB interview are required to submit at the earliest a photocopy
duly self attested of all such provisional degree/ degree certificate acquired after the SSB interview to the
respective addresses as given in Para 13 above.
15. Candidates are further advised that documents already verified at the Selection Centre need not be
submitted again to IHQ MoD (Army/Navy). In case of loss of such documents, the onus will entirely rest upon
the candidate.

16. Correspondence.

(a) Candidates must forward all queries/ requests only through ‘Feedback/ Queries’,
after logging in to their personal profile on www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
(b) Alternate modes of communication :-

18. Cash and Valuables. A maximum of Rupees One Thousand over and above what is required for
travelling expense may be carried. No valuables should be carried. Safe custody of cash and valuables will be
the responsibility of the candidates.

19. Free boarding and lodging will be provided to you for the period of your stay at the Selection Centre.

20. Please note that no breakfast/ lunch will be provided to the candidates of morning/ afternoon reporting
batches respectively by the Selection Centre on the day of reporting to the Selection Centre.

21. Please note that no individual will be allowed to go out of the SCC premises on the day of screening
test, hence it is advised that you must bring your luggage with you at the time of reporting.

22. Candidates will strictly adhere to laid down timings.

23. Candidates will not visit testing areas after testing hours.

24. The conduct of the candidates both in the Selection Centre as well as when visiting outside areas
should be courteous.

25. Any contravention of above orders or any act of indiscipline will invite immediate cancellation of
candidature on disciplinary grounds.

26. Cases of serious breach of discipline and conduct will be handed over to civil police and FIR registered
accordingly.

27. Candidates are not permitted to use mobile phones during the conduct of tests.
